Foreign Ministry on Ukraine situation: Call on all parties not to do anything to stimulate tension and sensationalize the crisis

Xinhua News Agency Beijing, February 14 (reporter Wu Yue, Zhu Chao)In response to the current situation in Ukraine, Foreign Ministry spokesperson Wang Wenbin said at a regular press conference on February 14 that China calls on all parties to be rational and not do anything to stimulate tension or sensationalize the crisis.Wang wenbin said that China’s position on the Ukrainian issue is consistent and clear and has not changed.To solve the Ukraine issue, we still need to return to the origin of the New Minsk agreement.The New Minsk Agreement, endorsed by the UN Security Council, is a basic political document recognized by all parties and should be earnestly implemented.All parties should push for a comprehensive settlement of the Ukrainian crisis and related issues through dialogue and negotiation.”We call on all parties to be rational and refrain from doing anything to inflame tensions or sensationalize the crisis.”He said China is closely following the situation in Ukraine.The Chinese diplomatic and consular missions in Ukraine are working normally. The Chinese Embassy in Ukraine has issued consular alerts, instructing Local Chinese citizens and institutions to pay close attention to the situation in Ukraine and enhance security awareness.”The Chinese Foreign Ministry and embassy in Ukraine will continue to stay in close contact with Chinese citizens and institutions in Ukraine, provide timely consular protection and assistance, and earnestly safeguard their safety and legitimate rights and interests.”Wang Wenbin said.(after)
